The Wheel of Life mandala is a symbol that represents samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth that all beings are believed to go through in Hinduism and Buddhism. The central circle of the wheel is divided into six sections, each of which represents one of the realms of existence: the god realm, the demi-god realm, the human realm, the animal realm, the hungry ghost realm, and the hell realm.
The snake, pig, and rooster that are depicted in the central circle of the Wheel of Life mandala represent the three poisons of craving, hatred, and ignorance, which are believed to be the root causes of suffering and the cycle of samsara. According to Buddhist teachings, these three poisons lead to negative actions, which in turn lead to suffering and rebirth in the cycle of samsara. By purifying these poisons and cultivating positive qualities such as compassion and wisdom, it is believed that one can break free from the cycle of samsara and attain enlightenment.
