Yongwang, also known as the East Sea Dragon King or simply the Dragon King, is a revered figure in Korean mythology and culture. He reigns over the underwater realm of the East Sea, known as Yonggung (Dragon Palace), and holds immense power over the ocean, weather, and fate. 

Yongwang is one of the four cardinal Dragon Kings revered in Korea, each associated with a direction and element. He holds a prominent place in Korean Buddhist temples, with dedicated shrines called Yongwang-dang where offerings are made and prayers for his blessings are uttered.
