The phurba (phurbu) is a three-sided ritual implement traditionally associated with Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, Bön, and Indian Vedic traditions. These implements are often engraved with protective spirits such as the face of Tamdin (remover of obstacles). 

In Bön, it is used as a tool for divination and the creation of sacred spaces. In the Indian Vedic tradition, the phurba is associated with the god Shiva and is used in rituals to invoke his protective powers. The phurba is also sometimes referred to as a "magic dagger" and is believed to have powerful transformative abilities, both in the spiritual and physical realms.
