The Gazi scrolls of Bengal, believed to have originated in the 18th or 19th century, are a collection of illustrated manuscripts that depict various episodes from the lives of the folk hero Pir Gazi and his encounters in the Sundarbans. The Sundarbans is a vast mangrove forest located in the delta region of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna Rivers in present-day Bangladesh and India.

Pir Gazi, also known as Hazrat Gazi Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, was a Sufi saint and warrior who is revered as a legendary figure in the folklore and history of the Bengal region. According to the legends, Pir Gazi possessed extraordinary spiritual powers and had a deep connection with the natural world, including the animals of the Sundarbans.

I absolutely LOVE this art print! I love the subject matter and the colors, the composition and the gold frame really sets it off. It is conspicuosly hung in my kitchen and I never tire of looking at it. I looked through this store and if money were in much greater abundance I would purchase a few more prints! Also packaging was great and it arrived fairly quickly. I am very happy with my purchase!
