According to Hindu mythology, Hiranyaksha was the younger brother of another demon named Hiranyakashipu. Both brothers were known for their immense strength and were considered invincible. Hiranyaksha's arrogance and desire for power led him to challenge the gods. He even managed to overpower and abduct the earth goddess, Bhumi Devi, which caused chaos and imbalance in the universe.

However, Hiranyaksha's arrogance and greed eventually led to his downfall. In the end, he was defeated by Lord Vishnu, who manifested as the boar avatar, Varaha, to rescue the earth goddess and defeat the demon.
