The Jain Purushkara Yantra is a complex and intricate work of art that is steeped in spiritual and cultural significance. Yantras are geometric designs that are used in Jainism, an ancient religion founded in India, as a means of focusing the mind, purifying the soul, and achieving a transcendental state of spiritual liberation.
The yantra dates back to around 1790, and it depicts the deity Purushkara. The face of the deity is adorned with eight Jinas, or enlightened beings, who are revered as the founders of the Jain faith. Surrounding the body of the deity are sacred Sanskrit symbols that are believed to have powerful spiritual significance. These symbols are said to represent the various aspects of the Jain faith and are meant to guide the viewer on the path to spiritual enlightenment.
